Plans are made
King Winter has made his entrance and given us nights of minus 8-10°C, bitterly cold and we must fire in the orangery. The heater runs at night to keep it frost-free, while the heat from the sun has done its part in the daytime.
Today, the sun simply does not rise from the morning. The sky is grey – i wonder if there’s more snow on the way? The weather forecast for the coming days says that the sun will come sometime during the day, but that more snow will be on the way for the rest of the week.
Today it is 2 February and Cyndelmisse. Many probably no longer know what Cyndelmisse is; an old Christian holiday, which is no longer holy – at least not in Denmark. Cyndelmisse is a dance of the Catholic word for light fair. It was celebrated, among other things, that half the winter had passed.
While winter has its plans, I’m making plans for the coming time. I’ve been given an unexpected freedom by being freed. Work needs to be sought, but time must also pass with something fun.
Yesterday I came up with the idea to make an insect hotel and on the same day Magne was actually tasked at school that he should also make an insect hotel. So now it’s going to be a mother-son joint project and I’ve already started a bit. I got a half pallet and tomorrow we’re going to go out into the woods and get materials for our little “hotel.”Then time goes on too, other than sitting and being social via PC.
Kids get bored in this time, it’s too cold to be out for quite a long time at a time and the snow is so frozen you can’t build a snowman.
Otherwise, it continues to be on the clean-up and the daily “feeding” of my hungry children. It’s hard to come up with new ideas, but tonight it’s on meatloaf with potatoes and lots of veg.
