Some sprouts and grows
After two weeks of severe frost (-17-18°C), thaw and rain came yesterday. The weather today is foggy and hazy – gray in gray. The question is, does it last? Is spring coming?
The birds have woken up after sitting hidden in the bushes, sheltered from the sharp wind.
While everything over the snow calmed down, life remains under the snow. The weeds grow lively again and it will soon need to be held down. However, the frost has not yet escaped the ground and the water is therefore finding other ways.In some places it will cause flooding, while in other places it finds the natural way away.
The kids have winter holidays, as always in week 7. They play, sleep and eat and socialize online with friends, as they have been doing for many months now. The boys have been very talented I think they are teenagers after all and can understand the seriousness of the situation. But even that is going to be everyday and now patience is about to end. Sitting as a teenager alone in your room should be an option when you need a time-out when we parents and the world become too sluggish, but not a normal everyday life for them.

Is society going to be closed up?
Most shops and traders in Denmark are now more than threatened on life. There were twice as many bankruptcies in January compared to January 2020.
A few shops have taken matters into their own hands and have reopened their shops/salons m.m. despite it being banned. You can understand them, the rent still has to be paid, their children have to have food and clothes and the warehouse. In general, it is not good to take matters into their own hands, then the authorities’ ability to control the infection disappears.
The insurgency is sprouting and growing among the population, many are squeezed both economically but very much mentally.
There is no doubt that society must be opened up as soon as possible. In Denmark, we have handled the infection in the best possible way, with good hygiene, distance, tests and isolation if one was infected.
Today, the government has announced that new testing methods will be used as soon as possible. I don’t think there’s any doubt that we’re going to live with Corona virus forever, in different versions and mutations like flu.
But if more tests can mean that children and young people can return to their school and education, that shops, services, restaurants and cafes can reopen, then let’s do it.
Until then, we will continue to remain in near isolation.
What do you mean?
What did you do during the shutdown? Other countries have handled the situation differently than in Denmark. How have you felt it’s been? Do you think – like me – that the world has changed forever? If so, for better or worse?
Comment very much on this post, I find it exciting to hear how you have experienced the past year.
