Tons of snot
Sunday I got two very snotty boys home on autumn vacation from their schools. And wow, it really caught them this time. They caugh and caugh and the snot simply pours out.
While we were in lockdown with home schooling and work from home, no-one was sick. We were at home and weren’t exposed to any virus. But that has changed, the boys have been constantly poorly since they went back to school after the summer holidays. If it’s not a common cold, it’s headaches and bad tummies.
Oh boy! I simply don’t know what to do to get them back on their feet again. Other than good food and bed all day – but isn’t that a teenagers preferred lifestyle anyway?
All this shows how important it’s to keep washing hands and disinfect. Unfortunately, I see far too many who don’t disinfect their hands in the supermarket anymore. It’s quite sad, a lot of sickness could be avoided by keeping the hygiene level up constantly. Some years ago, we had a fairly big influenza epidemic all winter. At work my we disinfected all door handles, desks and surfaces we were touching in our office. All offices next to us, were hit by the flu, while we avoided large scale sickness. It was a cheap and simple solution, we got the work done, while the other offices got behind work with much delay as a result.
However, back to my sick boys. Last night I served hot curry soup, spiced with extra garlic, curry and a pinch of chili. A bit of turmerit was also added to boost the immune system. The rest of the soup is served for lunch today.
Tonight we’ll have goulash, with loads of homemade paprika powder and chili. I wonder if good food, couch and Netflix could be the cure?
