Days are getting shorter and shorterThe first week of October has almost already passed. Autumn is slowly on its way and the days are getting shorter and shorter. I can clearly see it from one week to another.
It´s dark when we get up in the morning and I feel more tired and a bit weary. The last few days have been full of sun with cold nights, quite wonderful after a very rainy September. The apples on out tree in the garden are almost ripe. The tree was extensively cut back in the spring. So extensively, that no one expected any apples this year. But Mother Nature has her own ways, the apples are actually bigger and juicier this year. They are not suitable for eating, however they make a lovely juice. I have no idea what species they are, the tree is probably more than 50 years old. Next Friday, when the autumn holidays begin, it will be time to get the slowjuicer out of the cupboard and run the apples through. The juice must be pasteurized before put on bottles. That will give us lovely apple juice for at least a month.
